Hawks Nest!..?

Please excuse me, but I'm going to go on a bit of a rant:

I am reminded of a scene from a favorite movie of mine, "Fight Club"

I have come to believe that the Sounders Front office is of the opinion that filling all available seats is the best means to create "atmosphere" in Qwest field. A full house will spontaneously catch fire, so to speak, and create the intense crowd that they seek at Sounders matches, and while this isn't necessarily a mistaken assumption, I am also of the not-so-humble opinion that 90% of the atmosphere at Qwest field is being created by 10% of the paying customers.

The people our group has sought to reach out to are those that want to go crazy at matches. Waving flags, displaying signs and banners, singing songs, chanting, and generally giving full voice and effort to the Team on the field. This is what we want to be about. These are the people we need at Qwest, particularly in the ends of the stadium, following in the footsteps of long-established football terrace culture.

Which brings me to my important point. I have a strong reason to believe that the Hawks nest will be open for seating, and ideally would be a "supporter section" with GA seating. The logical evolution of the North End Supporters would be to "take over" this area (similar to ECS in section 122) and be allowed to go F-ing mental up there.

This may or may not involve a name change, but that isn't what is important right now. What we need are people willing to take this step, and help establish a frenzied nature that will hopefully establish the Hawks Nest as one of the great stands in North American, if not world, football.

If you are interested, stand up and be counted! You can do the following: (at least do #1, the rest is just if you feel like it)

1) go to our Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=80056385589) and sign up there, If you are not on Facebook either hit the "contact us" link at the top of the page and throw us an email, or leave a comment.

2) send a note to Bart Wiley (BartW@SoundersFC.com) expressing your desire to be a part of a Hawks Nest supporter group

3) give us your feedback (using the above methods), constructive, positive comments are always welcome. If you are a jerk we will just ignore you ;-)

Thanks!
